Rules · student resume & CV
Five rules before you apply
Keep it short, honest, and easy to tailor.
One page is enough
For internships and graduate roles, one strong page beats a multi-page academic CV. Cut before you shrink the font.
Education, then two or three proofs
Degree and graduation date first, then best projects or placements. Drop club lists and high-school awards unless they support the role.
Action + tool + outcome
"Built a churn model in Python; cut reporting from 6h to 2h" beats "Responsible for data analysis." Use real numbers.
Tailor summary and skills
One master profile, one export per application. Mirror the JD in skills and project order — only keywords you can defend in interview.
Check fit before you spray
High interest + low match → rewrite summary and two bullets. Low interest + low fit → skip. Fewer, stronger applications win.
