Overview
DocuResume ("we", "us", "our") operates https://docuresume.com, our APIs, the DocuResume Chrome extension, and the Artist Atelier connection that syncs selected works into your DocuResume profile. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using our services, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use DocuResume.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: information you provide, information generated by your use of the product, and information from third-party sign-in or payment providers.
- Account data — email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you sign in (including Google, Apple, or LinkedIn via Firebase Authentication or our sign-in providers).
- Legal consent — when you accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (for example on the Artist Atelier connect page), we store the acceptance time, policy version, and source on your profile.
- Profile and resume data — work history, education, skills, summaries, cover letters, academic CV sections, profile photos you upload, and career preferences you enter in the composer.
- Artist portfolio data — selected works, titles, captions, and artwork images you sync from Artist Atelier into DocuResume for artist CV and portfolio PDF export.
- Uploaded files — PDF, DOCX, and other resume files you import, stored in your private archive.
- Job search data — saved roles, pipeline stages, match scores, tailored drafts, and notes you store in your dashboard.
- Usage and quota data — which AI features you use (scoring, matching, tailoring, parsing) and monthly limits associated with your plan.
- Billing data — subscription plan, Stripe customer ID, and payment status. We do not store full credit card numbers; Stripe processes payments.
- Extension activity — when you use the Chrome extension, job page text and form fields on sites you visit may be sent to our API to compute match scores, suggest autofill values, or save a role to your tracker. This happens only when you interact with the extension on a supported page.
- Technical data — browser type, device information, IP address, and analytics events collected through Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tagging on our website.
Chrome extension
The DocuResume Chrome extension has a single purpose: help you autofill job application forms on applicant tracking systems (ATS) and job boards using your DocuResume profile, with optional match scoring and resume tailoring.
All extension code is bundled in the published package. We do not load or execute remotely hosted JavaScript. API requests return data (for example, profile fields or match scores), not executable code.
The extension does not run in the background on pages you have not opened. It does not collect your browsing history, log keystrokes, mouse movements, scroll position, or monitor network activity across unrelated sites.
We do not sell or transfer extension user data to third parties for their own purposes. Data is used only to provide extension features described in this policy.
- Personally identifiable information — name, email address, phone number, and resume content from your DocuResume profile, used to autofill application forms when you trigger autofill.
- Authentication information — Firebase ID tokens stored locally in the extension and sent to our API when you connect your account or call DocuResume services.
- Website content — job title, company name, job description text, and form field labels or values from the page you are viewing, sent when you request match scores, tailoring, autofill, or pipeline save.
- Location — IP address received as part of normal HTTPS requests to our API (we do not collect GPS coordinates from your device).
Artist Atelier
Artist Atelier is a companion app that can connect to your DocuResume account so you can sync selected works and related portfolio materials into DocuResume.
Connection uses our secure sign-in handoff on docuresume.com. You choose Google or Apple sign-in; a DocuResume account is created automatically if you do not already have one.
Synced artwork and metadata are stored with your DocuResume profile under your user ID. CV editing and account management remain on docuresume.com.
Data we do not collect
Through the Chrome extension and website, we do not collect:
- Health or medical information.
- Financial or payment card details through the extension (billing is handled on our website via Stripe).
- Personal communications such as your emails, texts, or chat messages.
- A history of web pages you have visited over time.
- Keystroke logging, mouse tracking, scroll monitoring, or other passive user-activity surveillance.
How we use your information
We use your information to operate, improve, and secure DocuResume:
- Provide resume building, CV export, job matching, AI tailoring, and application tracking features.
- Sync selected Artist Atelier works into your artist CV and portfolio exports.
- Record and honor your acceptance of our Terms and Privacy Policy.
- Run AI-assisted analysis using Google Gemini when you request scoring, rewriting, parsing, or similar features.
- Match roles to your profile and surface direct employer listings from our JobHive job engine.
- Sync your profile with the Chrome extension for autofill on supported applicant tracking systems.
- Process subscriptions and enforce plan quotas through Stripe.
- Send service-related communications (for example, billing receipts from Stripe).
- Monitor performance, debug issues, and protect against abuse.
How we store and protect data
Your account profile, applications, billing summary, uploaded CV files, and synced Artist Atelier artwork are stored in Google Cloud Storage under your user ID. Authentication is handled by Firebase.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to production storage is restricted to our application services. You can delete individual uploaded CV files from your library and remove profile content at any time through the app.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted processors to deliver the product. These providers only receive data needed for their function:
- Google — Firebase Authentication, Google Cloud Storage, Gemini AI, and Google sign-in.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple when you choose that method.
- LinkedIn — optional OpenID Connect sign-in (basic profile scopes).
- Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
- JobHive open dataset — employer career-page listings ingested for job market and salary features.
- ORCID public API — optional academic grants and publication import when you enter your ORCID iD.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads — site usage analytics and conversion measurement on our website.
- Applicant tracking system websites — the Chrome extension reads page content only on sites you open; we do not control those third-party privacy practices.
- Artist Atelier — companion app that initiates account connection and portfolio sync; DocuResume stores the synced profile data described above.
AI processing
When you use AI features, relevant portions of your profile, resume text, or job descriptions may be sent to Google Gemini to generate scores, suggestions, or rewrites.
Do not submit information you are not permitted to share. AI output may be inaccurate — review all suggestions before submitting applications.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication sessions (via Firebase), Google Analytics, and Google Ads conversion measurement.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit sign-in or certain features.
Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms.
If you delete files from your CV library, we remove them from storage. You can delete your account from Account settings, which removes profile data, CV files, synced artwork, and your sign-in.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. To exercise these rights, use our contact form.

Children
DocuResume is intended for job seekers aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
International users
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. By using DocuResume, you consent to this transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. When material changes require renewed consent (for example through Artist Atelier connect), we record a new acceptance on your profile.
