Academic CV template — faculty, postdoc, and research roles

CV vs resume: when to use a full academic dossier, and which sections committees expect.

An academic CV template includes education, appointments, publications, grants, teaching, service, and invited talks — not a one-page summary. CV vs resume: apply with a CV for faculty and research fellowships; use a resume only when the employer explicitly asks for two pages.

DocuResume's academic track supports Scopus import, grant blocks, and citation formatting so you are not maintaining parallel Word files.

Section priorities

Early postdoc: publications and grants near the top. Teaching-heavy roles: teaching philosophy and course list prominent. Admin lines: leadership and committee service.

Keep teaching and research profiles on one master dossier — repurpose to corporate only when you pivot lanes, with publications reframed as deliverables.

Australia and APAC

Australian universities often use Workday or local boards — search lecturer and research fellow roles in the matched feed with optional location. Academic listings may sit outside corporate keyword norms; use title search plus university employer filters.
