Part-time employment resume — students and side-hour jobs
How to write a part-time employment resume: availability, shift proof, and coursework — without apologising for not being full-time.
"Part time employment resume" searches usually come from students, carers, or people stacking a second job. Recruiters are not confused that you are not 40 hours — they are scanning for whether you show up, learn the system, and own a slice of the shift.
What to put on a part-time resume
Students: coursework is not a substitute for shifts
If you have paid hours, they go above projects. Coursework and clubs fill gaps when paid history is thin — capstone, tutoring, volunteer events — with a number (people, dollars, weeks). See the college student resume guide and first-job resume.
For internships that happen to be part-time during semester, use the internship resume guide and keep availability explicit.
